Getting crushed by my crush
"Oh no!", I shouted, looking at my phone. "I'm going to be late! Again!" I scrambled out of bed and took a quick shower, scrambling into the first clothes I saw. Light blue jeans, a gray sweater of sorts, and black flats. I grabbed my purse and my backpack, sprinting downstairs and snatching a pain au chocolat from the tray in the kitchen, fresh from the oven. "Gottagoloveyoubye!", I yelled to my parents as I sprinted out of the bakery, breakfast in my mouth, muffling my voice. I burst into the classroom as Miss Bustier called my name. "Present", I panted.Everyone laughed a little as I made my way to Alya, nearly collapsing into my seat.
"Girl, you are too funny", Alya whispered. "Why are you always late?" I waved her off. "Later", I whispered, before focusing on the lesson. After class, we made our way to study hall. "So, why were you late today?", Alya said as we sat down. "I decided to tell Adrien today, and the anxiety made it difficult for me to fall asleep", I answered. Alya's eyes bugged out of her head with shock. "Really?", she asked. I nodded, pulling out my books and starting on homework before she could freak out.
After school, I asked Adrien if we could talk. We sat down in the library, me panicking at the prospect of telling him. But we were in our senior year, he needed to know. "So, what's up, Marinette?", he asked. "W-well, I-i wanted t-to tell y-you somet-thing", I stuttered. "Go ahead, I'm all ears", he encouraged. "Ireallylikeyoulikebiggerthanlikeandiknowyoulovesomeoneelsebutihadtotellyou!", I said. His eyes went wide, and he had a sad look on his face. "I'm really sorry Marinette, but I only like you as a friend, but you are an amazing person, I don't want to hurt you", he said gently. I shot up. "N-no, i-it's okay, I j-just wanted to l-let you know", I managed.
I rushed out of the room before he could say anything, starting to lose control. I ran home and locked myself in my room. Alya would try and kill him, or rationalize his behaviour, and I didn't want to hear that. I needed someone would be patient, willing to listen without pressing questions, someone I could talk to. I needed Luka Couffaine.
